Wanting to not finish my two weeks.

So for a little history: I manage a little late night calzone spot…. It’s super run down (broken containers, dishwashing sink that half works, things like that) and the hours are inconsistent. Some days I work 5 and a half hour shifts, other days are 11 hour shifts. Pay is average. I put in my two weeks a few hours before my shift yesterday. No issue there. As soon as I showed up for my shift, I was told by the employee that opened the store that the owner came into the store and started talking shit about me. How “I should’ve been fired when the store was renovated a few months ago” and how “I’m glad he’s quitting anyways because his shitty attitude will affect other employees” I’ve only been at this place a year and I’m singlehandedly the only employee that has lasted this long. I feel hurt…

Has anyone been irritated with how people talk with technical support?

I’ve had about 6 years of on call support experience first start in customer service but now branching into tech support. Lately I’ve become irritated with how people talk to me in this new job. I’m supposed to get approval from the caller before putting them on hold but there are some who just don’t say anything or just ignore me when I ask. I also been getting a lot angry people cussing and fussing. I have a procedure to disconnect from toxic people but I’m at a point that a no tolerance may be something I instill despite there being procedure. I can understand if your frustrated. I am very patient and understanding BUT calling up technical support angry as hell then hanging up out of frustration makes both our lives harder. (Especially since I’m required to callback and leave a message on unexpected call drops)

Question about reimbursement

My boss has a requirement that if you call out sick for any reason you have to have a doctor's note. It says nothing in the employee handbook about needing to have one for one day, only mentioning extended periods of time. I'm not a big fan of the policy cause we see people from all walks of life at my job, from the young to the elderly and a lot of them will come in sick. The only two realistic options for us are the ER, which costs thousands of dollars, or a clinic down the road that charges $200 to be seen. If I were to call out sick for one day, bring in a doctor's note, and a receipt could I push for reimbursement since my boss is making it a requirement for continued employment and expecting us to pay out of pocket? I want to start…

I’m starting to hate my job and i feel horrible about it

I've already posted this in r/trueoffmychest but I thought it would fit a bit better here. Hi, long time lurker first time poster. For context i work in the restaurant business and my particular restaurant is private owned and not a corporate or franchise type. I'm going to start this by saying that i love cooking and working in restaurants as I've worked in many before starting at my current restaurant over a year ago. I love all of my coworkers except one. This one guy is why I'm starting to not enjoy my passion. He's aggressive, rude, threatening, and just a big bully. He's almost 20 years older than me but I'm the one he constantly bullies. He's always getting in my face and yelling at me for very small things and out of nowhere. I've gone to my boss about these encounters and sometimes it's dealt with and…

Call me Johnny Paycheck, because they can take this job and shove it.

Hey Reddit, I was a gardener for a small organization (SO) that is owned by a local non-profit. I started at the SO in 2018, and the retainment rate has been horrid due to conflicts between staff members and a certain management member from the non-profit. On average we lose 3-4 staff members a year/season due to stress or anxiety issues caused by the non-profit manager, and are constantly re-staffing and training as a result. Here's the best-of list for 2021 that caused me a nervous breakdown in 2021 and how I eventually got out. Some are mildly infuriating, others are downright insane. Please keep in mind, for the majority of the season I was the only worker, and have a well known attention disability due to head injuries. My writing isn't the best either, so bear with me. I am expected to return a completed key ring at the…

I’m 16 and just want to talk about working.

I recently started my first job about 2 months ago as a restaurant dishwasher. Originally wanted to cook but they put me as a dishwasher. I was told I would be working 6 pm to 10 pm but I get off at 11 or past that now. It may be low hours but we don’t get breaks and I have a spine fracture I believe it’s called and it’s been pretty bad on my back since I started. It seems like they are very unprofessional there, as in the CEO’s/owners or whatever, I’ve been told they haven’t had an inspection there in years so the kitchen is pretty filthy, and they haven’t bought any new equipment like the dishwasher even though they were going to years ago. There is this thing on the entry to the freezer that gets slippery and a couple years ago someone slipped and messed up…

I got summoned for jury duty

Should I show up to jury duty or should I not go and say fuck uncle sam? if I take this day I will probably not get paid for this I think I would rather go to jail and not pay the fine either I’m 27 years old with major depression and ADHD making minimum wage washing dishes. Why would they summon a low wage worker like me? i am nobody. The last time I was summoned for jury duty in 2018 they told me not to come.
