My company has a self-insured plan that's administered through Aetna and while Aetna has been fine, my company has a categorical exclusion for all transgender healthcare. So I have a week or so to magically come up with $6,000 to cover the rest of my top surgery. I'm livid. Been calling and writing both HR and Aetna trying to work out something, but I have no idea if it'll work. I'm so frustrated that they're allowed to do this through a dumbass legal loophole.

I'm genuinely interested in knowing who is working toward building a workplace that the subscribers here dream about become a reality? Whether you plan to employ 5, or 5000 people is meaningless. I've watched this sub for some time out of a perverted business owner's interest into the minds of the working class. I find it interesting that I yet to see a single person who wants to step up and put their neck and start paying a person who does their own job more than the company they just quit was willing to pay them. People love to point to Dan Price as the answer to the working class dilemma – but a dismal few want to follow in his foot steps. I own a collision repair facility that pays its employees very well. I have people who have worked at my shop for their entire career. I give…
Hi everyone, obligatory first time poster! Today, one of the new bosses in my office called me in to an “last minute meeting” to discuss my last month’s work. This meeting was completely unexpected and brought me a lot of anxiety as I had just been in a very long team meeting before and had not seen the notification. I go into her office after a lot of confusion and everything seems fine at first. She is a very bubbly person, so I can’t help but think they hired her on purpose to bring people bad news. She brings up my work in the last month, and how it is below the numbers. She mentions that she hasn’t forgotten the events of the past month (I was in the ER; They changed my project and goals over halfway through the month). She told me that if my numbers didn’t improve…
boss being really generous
I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub .. I've been struggling financially and my roommate just got evicted, meaning my bills have doubled. My boss heard about this through a coworker and called me in the office today, he offered to pay my first months rent to help me get adjusted to my new financial situation, which is really nice of him. I'm hesitant because I feel like this might turn into a negative situation and I'm not sure what to do. He said I didn't have to pay him back, no strings attached. Any advice appreciated. Again, I didn't know where else to post, just looking for advice
Amazon keeps on being Amazon.
I work for Amazon, sucks I know but it's a job. I did have several interviews and honestly I'm hoping I hear back soon. Anyway at my particular building they have made us take 1 mandatory time off days unpaid, meaning that we were forced to take 1 day off without pay, whether we wanted to or not. (Can use our precious pto/vacation though to cover it) Just got out of a meeting with my supervisors and we are doing it yet again… People are furious, understandably so. It'll be a week by week thing that they play by ear. I've been told main reason being due to lack of freight… I really hope I hear back from the interviews I had.
water bottle taken for bathroom hygiene
My bottle of water that was labelled with my name on it in bright blue marker was taken from my work station. I noticed thankfully this random woman had taken it with not a care in the world…. my coworker also seen it and we were both shaking our heads… awhile after this random lady put my bottle back. I confronted her friend I didn't know at the time where the random ladies work station was. I said your friend had taken my drink…. she explained which I'm ok with and knew that some people use a bottle to clean themselves after they use the washroom. So I confirmed that yes her friend had rinsed her vagina with my bottle in the washroom and returned the bottle to my work station…. I explained how disgusting that was and if I didnt see her take it i would of 100% re…
Transcript of email thread: Me: Hello, I looked at my paystub and noticed that the COVID pay I was supposed to have received for last week isn't included. Is that going to be a separate check? HR: You had a negative test for covid. That doesn’t qualify you for covid pay. Me: Sorry can you clarify? From what I understand, the information provided by dir.ca.gov under the section “Caring for yourself” explains that “experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and seeking a medical diagnosis” are reasons to take up to 40 hours of leave. HR: 2 days of covid sick pay will be paid to you today on a separate check, deposited tomorrow. Glad to hear you’re feeling well again Me: Okay thank you for your help
