I get so annoyed with how in the corporate world it is almost praised to have no work/life balance. My boss continually boasts about working while she had Co Vid (remote), and just praised my co-worker for working during his vacation. This is so infuriating, like maybe if I was a heart surgeon, but where is this going to get you? It reminds me of a verse from my favorite song, “Never had time for the family, but he is the richest man in the cemetery…”

I’m ready for a change. I’m tired of being told what I can and can’t do with my body by geriatric pos. I’m tired of reading the news everyday to these scum elite criminals making all these decisions that mean nothing to them but everything to common folk. I’m sick and tired of having to wake up everyday to nothing but news that will make you ashamed to live in the US. I want a change. I’ll be the change I want to see. I’m tired of people being poor because the government determines what poverty, is as if ANY of them have a clue what it means to be an average citizen. The final few grains of sand are about to make their way through the hourglass and I want to break it before the last one even drops. Who says the people in power are in power ?…

If there was a startup in your field that had solid initial backing from a PE group, and the PE group would be forced to offer its ownership (both returns and voting power) for sale to employees via ESOP (and would face some specified and substantial penalty if it didn't) after 5-8 years of ownership, would you be more likely to join that company knowing full well the company would almost certainly be truly employee-owned and governed in ~6 years?

They received 150 million investment series C whilst owing artists, employees, vendors contractors and customers money. Making roughly 80 who work remotely in North America redundant but they can’t say anything or lose out on one month severance pay. Majority of redundancies are women and ethnic minorities no accountability from leadership team. Firing engineers who were at the end of their probation and blaming it on performance. Promoted An Engineering manager and made her redundant without warning not even a week later. I’m so angry at how this shambles of a company who haven’t refunded customers for events they’ve cancelled during the pandemic even with a 90 day money back guarantee can operate. They’re also trying to make 84 others redundant in the U.K. but can’t follow through immediately because of legal issues. Fuck this company and I hope the press exposed them.
