I was watching this is us yesterday: and as per usual they focused on some pretty intimate family moments. It just made me think that everyone should be pretty pissed near constantly that we live in a society that allows corporations to force us to work for survival. To the extent that we’re unable to properly enjoy the important aspects of life. Sometimes I feel like each moment of working is theft from my own life. Anyway rant over.

I been surfing this forum for a while now because I know it has to be a better way this cannot be the American dream we all have been fooled into believing in.I work for a local grocery store And we only make $10 an hour as cashiers during a pandemic.Even the McDonald's next door to us pays $14 an hour. As you can probably guess my store is constantly understaffed rather it's people not wanting to work for such low pay or people calling out because they really don't care about making $10 an hour .Not only that but because we are a local store in a urban area our items are marked up to %50 percent more then the local chains here like Meijer and krogers.Honestly I don't know why people even shop here but because it's in a poor urban area alot of people don't have cars…
I have a closing shift we are throwing out the food I put all the food in one trash bag and then say it’s full or put another one over it after wrapping it. takes trash out back places food bag by corner, call my friend to pick it up my friend is with me when I get home we feast. we give excess to homeless by using cardboard plates and going to the bridge where they live. TLDR: when you can steal from your job, steal from the job. Boss makes a dollar while I make a dime, that’s why I steal food on company time … Edit: this is from 2019 :3
Pro-rata my bonus every year? bye!
A tale from the UK, of incompetent middle managers and… What's the phrase for the manager of a middle manager who is still themselves several layers from the top of the food chain??? Anyway started with a company in June of 2020. As April 2021 rolls around we get no pay rises but I do get a bonus of approximately 18% for the 6 months I was eligible in 2020. Fast forward a year and a switch from the best people manager I had to the worst people manager I've ever had. (Think going from someone who wants to be a manager to a Dev who wants more money so has to be a manager). April 2022 rolls around and after delivering a massive database upgrade project and basically becoming a defacto led Dev in the team, I'm “rewarded” with a 13% bonus. You see in our finance system my…
Resume question
I am finishing up my accounting degree and hate my job, but I need to say I have a bachelors degree in accounting to get the salary. Any suggestions?
First and foremost, I fully understand that the title is a bit of an oxymoron. As in to be a financially successful individual you have to have some level of greed. And those who are really successful are enveloped by said greed. But hear me for just a moment, and frankly I may be completely off the mark. I don’t consider a greedy person, I’ve never cared about being a rich man, owning the nicest car or the nicest house or the nicest crap to make my miserable life slighter nicer. But as a long time lurker, I’m filled with dread and the need to do something. Anything at this point. Everywhere I look, I see nation burying its own grave all while filling its pockets with profit derived from the trillions of dollars of debt and whatever the poor are able to scrape for themselves. Taking a stand against…
