Many of us are a paycheck away from homelessness and more are already there. When do we rise up and yell like those religious nuts who have already yelled loud enough to stifle the majority and continue to hinder positive growth?

My father who is from Mexico works too much and has no social life. He tells me that I am lazy if I just want to work 40 hours a week. We were talking the other day about work ethic and I told him that I love the American saying 'Work smart not hard'. He got mad at me and told me that I am 'lazy' and 'spoiled' like most Americans. While growing up, he used to tell me that Hispanics were better workers than Americans because we work 'harder'.

Disclaimer that is a little bit of a vent, but I think it's important to share to this can be prevented from happening to others. As short and simple as I can put it, I started a new job in January at local high school. I had worked there for four months when the last week of April a maybe 10 minute event happened. I had gone into a room to say hi to a coworker I was friends with, and he happened to be holding some students for In School Suspension. Now as context, at this high school it was very common for staff in non-licensed positions such as myself to be verbally harassed/assaulted and even threatened. I don’t know where else to put this. I’ve lost all hope in life. I really don’t want anything bad to happen and I’ve been fighting this since I can remember but I just feel like I’ve lost hope and there’s no more light at the end of the tunnel for me anymore. Bury this post I just needed to get this out and here was the only place I could.

I have no reason to quit except I kinda just wanna live my life. My finances are fine, I applied for another job anyways.
