Work breaks should be paid, if i have a 15 minute break or 30 minute break its not like i can instantly teleport home for 15 or 30 minutes. I dont even have enough time to drive to mc donalds or where ever (i work in a factory in an industrial area not close to any shops). No im just sitting on my ass in the break room on my phone hoping my shift ends faster.

Long story short I work from home, my daughter who has severe depression was telling others at school they want to end their life. Therapist says take them to a hospital, informed my regional who said they can't approve it due to attendance policy. Can someone explain how this is even legal?

Best way to let 1st employee go
I’ve received different opinions on this topic so I’ve come to Reddit…I’m a CEO and unfortunately I need to fire my first employee who has been at the company for two years. He is consistently underperforming despite lots of coaching. He is aware of all of the issues and this will not come as a surprise as it’s worsened in the last month. The tough part is that my second employee, who is in a senior position relative to the first employee, just joined six weeks ago. Do I let him in to what’s going on with the first employee? Or tell him what happened as soon as I have officially let the first employee go? Trying to balance respecting the first employee vs. maintaining trust/decreasing fear with the second employee.

Restaurant hiring trial?
Hello, my 19 year old son went to his first job interview at a very popular restaurant in our city with a 5 star rating, and walked out of there with 2 trial shifts to see how he does as a busser. Is this normal, does OSHA know about this? Is this a smaller-restaurant practice or do bigger chains do this as well? I’ve never worked food industry, I come from a construction background, so I don’t know. I just figured they have 5 stars so they must do something right? Please let me know, thanks.
So, I am on 12 weeks approved FMLA. It has been a whole process, including doctor’s visits, filling out proper forms, etc. But I have been keeping on top of everything. The other day, my employer called me and left me a voicemail, asking me to call them back. I called them back 20 minutes later, and it turned out they needed another formed filled out and sent to them. Fine, I took care of it. A few days letter, I get a letter marked urgent in the mail. It says that they have made “several unsuccessful attempts” to contact me, and that I need to respond ASAP. I call them as soon as a I can, and they said it was just in regards to the form that I had already mailed in. I asked for more details on the “several unsuccessful attempts”, and they listed them as 1)…
I work for a small business funding company. My job is basically all data entry, and I ALWAYS get all of my work done before I leave. We were rather busy today, and we outsource to India to handle our merchants bank statements that we need to send deals out to lenders. They are EXTREMELY slow, and by 5:00 there were still 18 deals that weren’t ready to be sent out yet. My job is to send them out when they’re ready. Sometimes these can take HOURS and I’m not sacrificing my time sitting at work until 8pm for a job where I make $18/hr, I have other responsibilities. Tonight I had to take care of my dogs while my family was out and I’m also catsitting for a friend of mine. At 5:30, I tell my boss “Hey I have to head home I have my dogs to take…
