Seriously though
Hello everyone! My friend works at daycare in boston and she recently put in her two weeks because she got offered a job at a skin care center. She went to beautician school for skin care and waxing, and she is excited to start her new opportunity. My friend has worked at this daycare for about two years now and she told her boss six months ago that she is looking for another job since she just graduated and passed her benchmark test. Her supervisor agreed and was happy for her. My friend orginially, told her supervisor that she would stay till the end of june but she only said that because she wasnt sure if she would find another job. Now, since she found one… One of her supervisors at the daycare has started being verbal abusive towards her. She is now being bullied, and verbal assaulted every time…
Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I work at an animal boarding place and I absolutely hate it (for multiple reasons, but especially because I never get breaks while working 7+ hours). Just thinking about going there makes me feel suicidal. I tried to quit today in person, but I feel like the manager knew I was about to and changed the subject really fast so I wasn’t able to. Also I know about the whole two weeks notice thing, but honestly I hate it so much that I don’t even think I could last that long. Does anyone have any advice for me?
DURING COVID MY WORKPLACE OFFERED DAYCARE ASSISTANCE FOR MY LITTLE ONE. WHICH WAS 100$ A DAY AND 500$ PER WEEK. DURING THAT TIME I APPLIED BC I THOUGHT IT WAS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES. DURING THAT TIME IM ON LEAVE AND STILL TAKING MY CHILD TO DAYCARE. SO I APPLIED FOR THE LEAVE AND WAS APPROVED. NOW A YEAR LATER THEY DO AN AUDIT AND NOW THEY SAY I SHOULDN'T NEVER HAVE RECEIVED THE FUNDS DUE TO ME BEING ON LEAVE DURING THAT TIME. I TURNED IN MY RECEIPTS FROM ME PAYING THE DAYCARE. I feel like there shouldn’t be any disciplinary actions (REPAY BACK) due to it having to go through approval. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?
Hello! I’m looking to interview people who have worked with amazon, both currently and formerly—about their experiance with the company and in their positions. This is mainly aimed at their warehouse workers and drivers, but I’d love insight from other positions if any stumble upon this! The purpose for the interview is to give workers a chance to safely and anonymously voice their thoughts, opinions, and concerns while sharing them with the public, without any fear of retaliation or backlash. Ideally these would be audio interviews, with voice changing for privacy. If you or someone you know would be interested in sharing their experiance and thoughts unfiltered, please DM me and be part of this!
I just found out about this sub and you can not imagine my surprise when I saw so many free-spirited and like-minded people. I'm sure that there are different takes on this antiwork concept even in the same sub, but I think this will be a good place to shout out my frustrations. Having something in mind and not being able to say it only because if you do so, the society will mock you and bash you to the ground; It's a terrible and destructive feeling. so if you don't mind. We need to stop the gears of the system that is designed to slave away the poor and feed the rich. Capitalism is just the same slavery with a different disguise. One person does not need 200 billion dollars to live a decent life. Our Greed will be the humanity's downfall. Stop it. thank you.
So, with my current employer and current insurance, I've already met my out of pocket maximum for the plan year because I had my son. I decided to switch to another job with another company and will increase my salary by $20k plus a bonus. However, my insurance will be reset. I hadn't considered that before, so now I'm scrambling to hopefully schedule my partner's sleep study and my toddlers minor surgical procedure, plus purchase a CPAP if necessary all before the end of June. And I don't even know if the doctor will schedule my daughter's procedure because he wanted to wait until she was 3 and she's only 2.5. Tying insurance to work and insurance not covering everything is such baloney. Especially for kids. It's not like my toddler's life choices led to her having trigger thumb.
Background: I've been working at a startup company for the last few years. Low pay for a little equity kind of situation. During my time at the company, there have been numerous occasions where my boss has missed pay periods. Sometimes going weeks, at its worst a month, without resolution. They eventually do resolve the missing compensation. However, when you are being compensated less salary for equity, it makes finances really tight. I've tried to be patient when pay gets missed. Understanding that it's the “startup life,” but it gets to a point where only threatening my boss, by not working, gets payroll moving in the right direction. So, getting to the point, my boss calls me today, after I told him I'm not working until the payroll issue is resolved (again) and he tells me I need to choose between being a “partner” in the company and an “employee”…
