I can’t do this corporate song and dance anymore. My manager lives in another city and has bad communication skills so we don’t talk very much. Her manager lives in my city and we clash. When it comes to work, she never has anything but positive things to say directly to my face (“you’re so smart!” “You’re doing great!”). However on an interpersonal level she is evil. She saw me (i am a senior accountant) talking in the kitchen with a colleague, a new VP. She decided she didn’t like that and made comments to other people about my intentions talking to this man or not having enough work because I was speaking to our new VP (mind you, we were discussing work related topics I am working on for him). I am a woman of colour who worked really hard to get to where I am get to get…

As sad as it is, working more than one job is becoming more normal than anyone would like. If you have been in the workforce long, the average wage doesn't equal daily expenses so people are forced to “double dip” or “Moonlight.” This should be common knowledge ESPECIALLY if you are managing employees. That being said, in what world does a boss have the right to give someone shit for working another job or why do us workers have to keep it a secret?? So I'll stop here, let's here some thoughts. Get rough and fuck the machine up. EDIT: Just for clarification, this issue just popped in my head. No event has triggered this, just an angry random thought 🤔
Ill sleep when I’m dead
Who the hell thought this was good mantra. When people start repeating this i cringe….. like it’s the way to live. Working all the time. Long days, work on days off, never taking days off. Who started corrupting people’s thoughts with this ridiculous idea. The crazy thing is?…? I used to work all the time thinking this was the way. Then i realized it wasn’t good for my body or mental health. I was too tired to function, never around to interact with people and i started showing signs of stress/ aging. I don’t knock you if you got things to take care of though, but I’ll sleep now not when I’m dead. Slight rant
I'm annoyed as hell. I just quit a trucking company (tomorrow is my last day thank god). For a more extensive list of reasons I left, look at my post history. The tl'dr is that they were treating me like crap, expected me back 3 weeks after I gave birth the a whole human baby, and didn't fix my truck ever. One of the worst offenses though is that one of my coworkers for whatever reason found out the name of my stalker. My company was aware of her and knew I had an upcoming court date to get my restraining order in the next week or so. This was back in November of this year. The coworker for some unknown reason reached out to this woman and gave her my information. The list includes but is not limited to: my truck number, my manager's number, the route/times I drive,…
My husband works at a fast food restaurant. he has epilepsy which they all know about. unfortunately this morning he knew he was having symptoms showing that he would have a seizure soon (shaking, throwing up, migraine). he called out of work 14 minutes before his shift. i understand, super annoying but he didn’t have a choice or he definitely would’ve had a seizure at work. well anyways the manager texts him later that this will be a write up and he isn’t allowed to work tomorrow because she can’t risk him calling out. i understand getting his shift covered tomorrow but the write up irritated me because this is a medical condition and he can’t control when it happens. and to add, this does not happen often. we usually get lucky and he has seizures on his off days from work. he has not called out for a seizure…
