My work was building a new laboratory so we could get out of the crappy one we have and today we found of they had just cancelled building of the new lab after seven months of planning because “ interest rates and materials are more expensive and they might lose money” and then in the same breath, refused to give a inflation pay increase to employees because they need to make up for the 20 million they spent on planning.

It’s 15.50, a dollar more than min wage. Does that seem right? For an assistant manager role? Maybe I’m just not caught up on pay stuff Edit – it’s a retail store. Another retail shoe store has its pay at 17 an hour for just a sales associate.

Long story short, i work for an international ingredients company. For the past month i have been fighting with the company to fix my pays or simply pay me. One week nothing deposited, next pay week its short, repeat this cycle for a month. Now we have a union, and have tried to grievance said situation, however company denies all grievances because “the contract wording means we (the company) are still in compliance. Have been told there is Nothing the union can do. So like what can i even do? I have tried showing them incorrect paystubs etc but they just tell me “its being looked into” “ we’re assessing the situation” and send me on my way expecting me to go back to work. Im based in Ontario, so Canadian laws apply Tldr: Company screwing up pays, sometimes not even paying at all, union seemingly useless and cannot lift…
