Something happened at work. It required me to work 14+ hour days the past two weeks. I'm salaried so no overtime. I've put all my side projects to the side so that I could dedicate myself to the task at hand. It was insane at work, and when I left, I came home and worked some more too, and even the weekend. Long story short, I put in a godawful amount of hours. Because of my work, and solely my work, the workplace is back to a functional level and working phenomenally. My boss/owner realizes what level of performance and knowledge I have achieved, and they claim to be offering me a bit of a raise in the near future. I have researched salary data and I am already right around $20,000 less than what others make in my field, but have fallen into the “rural area, so you make…
Vox Office Propaganda
Long time, first time. The new Vox video I saw today is meant to discuss the “perfect office” from Frank Lloyd Wright. I wish the video simply focused on the architecture, but the button on it seems to be: “Offices aren't the same without people” and “Working from home is just not the same” It feels so tone deaf, and so focused on getting people back into the office with this wistful, wow we may never have such beautiful buildings again!
