I’m a sales veteran.(8 years in the industry) Been here two weeks and I’ve had the most sales in September out of anyone else in the office. I’ve declined every single request to stay late. Of course they ask me when they make a piece of every sale I make. I see what they’re doing. If they keep asking when I say no, imagine how often they’d ask if I said yes. I work nine hour shifts five days a week. They’re getting pissed now when they ask because I have yet to agree to stay late. This job blows I’m already looking for a new one.

Been searching and searching for a hybrid/remote job as a chemical engineer w/ 5 years experience. These flexible aren't very prevalent, usually highly competitive. Out of the 64 applications, I've received: 55 – No response 6 – Responded with rejection 1 – Interviewed but didn't continue after first interview (despite promising another interview lol). 1 – Interviewed and offered job, but didn't have any WFH flexibility do I declined. 1 – Interviewed this morning, said they want me to come in in person for a second interview. When I asked about hybrid/remote option, they went on a salvo about how they have been reporting to the office lately because of comradery teamwork etc. They do have the option to work 4/10s, so that is something. I've been applying to jobs that don't necessarily explicitly state in the description they are remote or hybrid, but jobs that are 100% in front…

Aftermath of hurricane Ian attitude s
I live in Coastal Swfl. It's a total mess here. Publix opened up this morning. Two days after a Cat 4 hurricane destroyed the area. My wife and I go in to pick up a birthday cake for my son. His birthday was the day it hit us. While checking out. My wife asks the cashier how he was doing. His face said it all. He lives closer to the coast. He had no water, power, or cell service since mid day Wednesday. Had to drive through flooded roads. With no traffic lights. No gas stations open. Just so people could get much needed items. Then he says people keep yelling at him because their shelves are emptied and the lines are so long. This is why I hate people. We should be appreciating the fact other people are willing to show up. For not great pay. So they can…
Ridiculous Application Requirements
We’re hiring at work and my boss was telling me about the applications and resumes she received. She said a bunch of them were bad. What qualifies as bad? -No college diploma -Worked fast food I work at an information desk. I tell people where the bathroom is and answer phones. I spend most of my day reading ebooks, checking the news, playing on my phone, writing, or watching YouTube…you don’t need a goddamn college degree to do this. It just BLOWS my mind at the level of ignorance that’s occurring here. Not going to college or working at McDonalds doesn’t make you a bad or incapable person. Wtf
Neoconservatism isn't a system of adhering to facts but asserting/rearranging prejudices & biases, largely religious based racism, bigotry & misogyny, also anti intellectual ideology promoted by a mainstream corporate media empire which is an echo chamber for lies & conspiracies. People are making millions by promoting fascist neoconservative anti-worker lies & divisive right-wing conspiracy theories, indoctrinating & brainwashing society. People telling the truth are being silenced & even demonized by those who own & operate mainstream corporate media. Both parties are operating neoconservative fascism for wall st parasites & corporate predators but the republican party is radicalizing right-wing nazis to attempt to put down a left-wing worker revolt they now see coming with the rise of unions & workers now demanding higher wages & worker rights & protections. I'm not against unions, I've been a member of USW (United Steel Workers) & so I know they can be effective but…
