I applied for a higher position within the city where I work, was offered the position, and transferred to a new work location. Now, on my second week at my new job, i received an email that HR didn't realize that the hiring bonus was only for external hires. They never informed me of this, it was not written anywhere in the job application, and now i won't be receiving my $1000. I probably would still have applied for the position, but the bonus was a big incentive for me. I'm very angry. How can they do that??

a much better mindset
…companies are still plenty picky. Also, you'd think a company–any company, from McDonald's to Google–would want any qualified full and part time workers they could get. But no, it's their schedule they want you to work, no flexibility allowed. It's their schedule, take it or leave it. So I really don't think there's a lot of desperation when it comes to hiring. There's plenty of applicants, they just don't want to work crazy hours and have no flexibility.
The past few years be crazy, honestly…
Boss: “You should’ve been here at 9.”
Third quarter results were announced a week ago and we exceeded the earnings forecast. I was the most senior person on my team, that seems to have been a trend. We just hired a new replacement engineer on our team in August for someone that left at the beginning of June. HR told me I was welcome to apply for opened positions as I wasn't fired for performance or other issues. This seems to be a culling of seniority. I should have left last year when the market was super hot.
Offer Sheet Timetable?
I’m just recently graduated, took a job that has certainly underpaid me for the work I do, but I needed something outta school. They’ve claimed that they are preparing a new offer sheet STARTING on Nov. 1st. I’ve yet to receive one. Feel like they are doing this just to corner me into accepting whatever is presented, but how long should I realistically have to review an offer sheet?
