Are they trying to get rid of me?
My job sent out an email to all full time employees stating we could go down to 20 hours a week until the end of the year without using any of our earned paid time off. This confuses me because wouldn’t that make me a part time employee? Why would they offer this?

Just a quick breakdown, I’m job hunting but am currently employed and don’t have a ton of pressure to take the first job offered. I have some management experience in a couple backgrounds but neither are a retail setting. I have a phone call tomorrow regarding a Store Manager position. It may not even be a full-on interview yet. They want to talk and ask a few questions. This has only been communicated through a text and this is the first time they’ve reached out. I did some snooping to connect the job position to who was texting me and it is a Store manager of a buy cars/used car/car parts store. The job looks appealing enough, it atleast doesn’t seem like a scam from what I could find online. Pay seems great, indeed/Glassdoor reviews aren’t too bad and mention good benefits, etc… My concern is I have no idea…
Hey all. Long time lurker here with many a story to tell. Today's story is from my 19 y/o daughter. She began working for a nationwide chain daycare here in the US. She's no stranger to children being the oldest of four and having several babysitting and nannying gigs for the last few years. She was just hired in August and has been dealing with making minimum wage and being severely understaffed. For anyone who doesn't know, daycare centers must comply with all federal regulations on trainings. There are promotion and role related trainings as well not state or federally required, but required by the organization as a part of providing quality child care in a competitive industry. I'm not ignorant when it comes to labor laws. I'm an Industrial Organizational Psychologist which requires extensive knowledge of federal laws and robust ethical compliance training. So, when she came to me…

At the place I work a buddy of mine who has worked here only a few months more than me picked up a higher position relativity fast. They're great at their job and I'm happy for them. When I got back from a deployment I thought it'd be easy to pick up a similar position with the turn over rate. But instead I'm just sitting in an office browsing Reddit and looking at indeed jobs hoping that I'll find something with better pay that'll finally accept me. So far, no dice. I feel as if I have applied to almost a hundred jobs and only 5 have sent me an email saying that they chose someone else. FFS, I'm tired of this system and I don't want to work jobs that leave me exhausted wondering if I'll even make it to next week.
