I was a housekeeper at a hotel making $9/hour and about ten minutes ago my brother and I just quit our job. Last week they fired two people for not agreeing to do extra work without further notice and they fired someone else because she just stopped showing up. (So she basically quit) Now my brother and I just quit because they wanted us to happily deep clean 15 rooms for only $62 each after taxes. That’s less than $5 a room. No thanks. Not to mention the supervisors were mean, power hungry, never gave us breaks, and stole our tips. So glad to be gone!

Got the old bait and switch when I took the job. Showed up to a supervisory position on day one, where the original job was not. Asked to negotiate salary and was denied. After a couple friendly talks with HR, and 4 months later, company bumped my salary $7,500 more a year, and back-paid to my start date. Couple of weeks later, caught the Covids, and was out for almost 2 weeks. No vacation days used, no change in pay. Like it never happened. Couple of weeks later, out of nowhere, my daughter got sick and was in ICU for a few days, and in and out of emergency rooms for a couple of weeks.
