Who’s on your employment blacklist?
Unfortunately, we still need to work to pay for things. That being said, I know there are a few companies that I wouldn’t be caught working for. Businesses can shut the door on applicants all they want, but i want to know who makes your list for companies you absolutely will not work for. Morale reasons, past experiences, shitty recruitment, you name it. Who’s on your list?
Is this a legal form of payment?
Hello everyone, I live in Texas and have been miserably working at a BJ’s Brewhouse for around 2 1/2 months today. They treat their employees like shit (managers have literally bullied servers and bussers until they quit), the managers there are lazy tyrants. But yesterday was the last straw for me. Upon entering the building for my shift I was asked by a manager to work the take out station because no one was on it that day (due to them all quitting bc of management). I agreed to do the job that I never applied for because I would’ve gotten paid $10/hr plus tips and get a free meal, it didn’t seem like the worst deal at the time. After working 5 1/2 hours at the take out station I was informed that they’d be unable to pay me for whatever reason but that they’d give me a gift…

Even more infuriating: it's okay when they lie or don't follow the rules, but if you do it, they're all over you about it. THAT drives me bonkers. Either we're holding each other to the same standards or we aren't, don't try and play me like that. I'm over it. The manager at my last job was like this and it was horrible for my mental health. This is also what one of my new coworkers is like; it is draining. I don't understand how…
