2 weeks into my new job and I'm already wanting to call it quits. I cannot work with this guy who has been training me. He is so fucking overbearing, bossy, arrogant, tries to act like my boss. The guy is still new too himself to top it all off. 2 hours into my shift tonight I almost decided to say I wasn't feeling well and go home, because I'm about to snap. He says to me “don't ever just be standing around, always ask me for the next task”. Which he also said that to me just the other day. Apparently our lead has been “bitching” but I haven't heard her say anything at all. Okay so I grab the swiffer to clean the floor so I'm not “standing around”. He immediately berates me and tells me to go do this instead. All night long it's non-stop barking orders.…
Is this illegal, or just immoral?
I work in medical in Australia, 6 months ago I was offered to take on the team leader role to 20 staff along with my role as a medical secretary. In those 6 months I have been busting my arse doing two roles (working 20hrs+ overtime a fortnight, working weekends etc) as I was told, by the end of the year they would phase me out if being a medical secretary to a full time TL/HR role. I have just received my variation agreement after my 6 month review, a review where I was told how all the staff are so happy I'm in the TL role and how well I'm doing. The words “your performance/salary review will happen in June 2023, how ever there is no guarantee that this role will change to HR/TL as it will depend on business requirements.” hit me in the guts. I'm sure it's…

Hello, I've been working a part time job for 7 months now. I'm in college and will finish college next December. I'm hoping this job lasts until next December. However, we're not allowed to take breaks alone. I work for Cricket Wireless. Our district manager says if someone is in the store with us, then we can take a 30min break whenever we want. However, if no one is in the store, we're not allowed to put up an “On Break BRB” sign and leave for 30min. This hasn't been a problem for me until today. My college mailbox doesn't let you pick up your mail on saturdays and sundays. I was scheduled to work from 9am to 5pm Friday. The college mailroom closes at 4. I didn't want to have to wait until Monday to get my mail because I ordered a phone through Best Buy's christmas sales and…
