Am I crazy or is my boss a scumbag?

I work at a certain restaurant chain named after a southern state, that has bread that people love, and they're known for what their uniforms say. I roll silverware there. So, I've been suspicious of my scheduling manager for a bit now. She's apparently not been scheduling me, and saying it's an accident. This went on for over a month and a half, until the other managers found out and got involved. They assured me it was an accident and their fault. I was already suspicious, and about to look for work elsewhere. Last week, after they told me they talked to the scheduling manager about my schedule, turns out she “forgot” to schedule me again. I had to threaten to file a complaint to get scheduled. I need a job coach there sometimes to watch me and coach me through half of my shift, since I have some learning…

CC Fees deducted from paychecks, is this legal?

A friend of mine was recently reminiscing about a terrible job she had working at restaurant. She told me she got paid very little and mostly relied on tips, because her employer took credit card fees out of the workers' paychecks. Meaning that when a customer paid with a card, there was an associated fee, and the server had to pay that from their check. This sounds insanely illegal to me, especially after trying to look up the laws in our state. Is this legal? If not, where should she report this? She has a friend that still works there. We're in OR, USA.

Idk if this is the right place to post this but why can jobs drug test you?

Like what I do in my free time is my business. I’m sure half the office has an alchoholic drink or 2 at night. Just cause I smoke weed doesn’t mean I will be at work.

Telling your boss that you’re burnt out

Who else has told their manager they have been burnt out? How did it play out? I recently told my boss… Long story short: • I make good money with OT can easily survive on 40 hours used to not mind it, now I feel like they are taking advantage of it • 60-70 work weeks with graveyard lately; with no compensation • etc…. I told my manager this because they asked what was wrong.

Do you consider it disrespectful if your boss won’t even try to pronounce your name correctly?

My name is not hard to pronounce, complete strangers get it right. My name is a derivative of Danielle, but shorter and easy to pronounce, and I have been there over a month. Sometimes she calls me the correct name but most of the time she just doesn't care enough to even care.

Upper management needs to realize they have hostilities in their workplaces because most employees are barely being paid a living wage.

It’s not the employees’ fault they are struggling to financially survive.
