I am a supervisor in healthcare and we get bonuses for achieving certain goals. When I got my break down for my bonus this month I realized that most of the objectives were things that my nurses and other staff did and I just directed them to do so. I feel like giving them this money or even buying them something will be a slap in their face because it’ll seem I’m just making myself feel better (partially true) but when I talked to my boss about guving them a raise or bonus instead she told me it wouldnt happen. What should I do? Getting this bonus is clearly immoral but it’s technically the company’s fuckup not mine. I’m a leftist trying to leave this position asap anyhow because I’ve been asked to be in charge of people so clearly being fucked over and can’t seem to change it.

Just was told I had to have so many Did Not Meets, Inconsistently Mets, etc to meet a bell curve. Anyone hired this year or recently promoted has to get less than successful for being new to role. It makes no difference what the manager, or even their managers manager thinks, nor does what the employee actually did count at all. The C levels at my company make millions of dollars in bonuses regardless of how well the company performs.

Companies that force or even encourage employees to come in sick should be held financially responsible for every consumer and any other employees that fall ill. They should also get a negative health warning put on their window just like restaurants that have negative health scores to warn all customers for the next 6 months.

Alright so I work for a resort and we have been getting supplemental income for about $400 a month when we work 40 hours a week. This has been going on for about a year. I just received an email from the lovely HR department about this pay being cut as it was temporary. I went in today to discuss how this paycut of 8% needs to be offset by a wage increase. This all sounds normal as we are dealing with inflation, higher cost of living, etc. The HR person says that “we are actually receiving tons of new applicants so the problem we had earlier with the lack of people is gone!” I literally was in disbelief and told her all this information again. That I needed a wage increase to offset my loses. I am greatly disgusted in the way that I have been talked down to…
