My spouse suffers from severe depression and ptsd. Sunday she had a traumatic episode. I told my boss I was going to stay with my spouse because she was suicidal. I don’t think my boss even believes me because people quit on him and he thought I did too but I told him I didn’t. So if I found a local hospital, used their address/phone number/ and log. Then wrote my spouse was admitted, and that I couldn’t return to work until Monday, would I get in any trouble for using the hospital’s logo on a paper or fake dr name? I highly doubt they check in due to it being my spouse, and mental hospital, they couldn’t confirm or deny her being there. I just don’t want criminal charges. I don’t want to be fired for missing work due to my spouse’s mental health.

My dad worked for the government for years, and this story always got me. Back in the day when not everyone had a personal cell my dad had a work phone that he took on the field with him. One day when he realized that he was going to be late coming home he used it to call my mom and tell her. Fast forward to when the bill comes in. His boss calls him into his office to ask who the unknown number on the bill belonged to. Upon finding out that it was a personal call, he made my dad pay the 10¢ it cost to make. Recently, I had a long time friend/mentor ask for my resume. I informed him that I would send him a copy but not to get his hopes up as I am very happy where I am at (currently). Well, a couple weeks passed and his company reached out to me…… the conversation went a little something like this…. Interviewer: why are you interested in looking for work. ever since i put my two weeks in i’ve had to endure hearing my bosses shitty jab comments. yesterday i heard some more things but wasn’t sure if they were about me but today it was confirmed that they were. basically said that he didn’t need to fill my position and he was tired of hiring young people with no drive or ambition. + a bunch of other shit. mind you, i have put in less effort since they have disrespected me so badly. i quit because they treat me terribly and i want to go back to school and pursue a different career. i decided to call HR today (bosseswife. this is a family owned place. lol go figure) and do the respect of letting her know i was leaving and would not be showing up for my last day (tomorrow) i was immediately met with hostility and defensiveness,…

This is embarrassing now, because my boss is making it personal. I’ve tried to write this so many times, and it gets so long. This is my briefest version. I worked at this company for 5 years. Very small (less than 10 people and half of them are siblings) We did not have an HR Dept. I found out (on accident) that the new hire, who I am still training, is being paid more than I am I confronted the boss about it and he fired me for “breaking the golden rule of snooping” …and for “being an alcoholic” and being hungover on company time.
