Annie Duke Thinks You Should Quit
Life shouldn’t be this hard
Where did we get to this point? Where it's become the “norm” to find full time work just to be able to afford a place to rent let alone buy anything. How did we get to this point where those amount of hours and even the retirement age was “acceptable”? Nobody should have to work 40+ hours to make ends meat and then work over 50 years of age! By the time we all get to that point we'll be in nursing homes, playing golf or being taken care of by our family. “Oh but you get a small amount of time off” we should get a lot more time off than that! We only live one life and everyone is just okay with how the current working conditions are?!
If you want to crap all over your hardworking, earnest, and loyal employees who do everything right by you, but you still want to be a nickel pinching, whiny bastard, then it's what you get. My CEO holds to the adage that if you give an employee an inch they will take a mile. I can't say it's not always the case, but if you go in with this mindset by default, you are going to screw yourself. If you always assume the worst and think every employee is out to get you, then fuck you. P.s. I've had quite the day at work today if you couldn't tell. Lol

Even better – they launched a new website last may that caused hundreds of issues and plagued everyone’s systems for months and absolutely nobody asked for it so we are being punished for the head execs who are still giving themselves raises this year The job itself already pays lower than other similar jobs but had some useful benefits that kept me around, but overall it’s turning into such a joke. I am wondering though since I’m in California – does the state require companies to increase pay every year? It only pays a little over minimum wage and I think by next year it technically would be under at this point. The best part: they said it’s our job to find ways…
