This is a throwaway account. Its not a call for charity, or some plea for help. Its just my life, in a capitalist democratic system, a constitutional monarchy, in a wealthy western country, from 2008 to now. I am no one special. I graduated high school by grinding textbooks and quitting social life and weed. I then went to school for a trade at a community college, as I was advised it would bring job security and good pay. I completed the course in 2011 and every company I called was going out of business. The union never called me back. Now with -5000 dollars, and a year wasted leaving messages on unanswering machines, I went into food service where I was grinded into pulp. I have anxiety- more specifically called generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and this toxic workplace is causing me to not work because I feel undervalued. I have apathy towards my work and I feel stuck. I am trying to stay positive in my toxic workplace with positive affirmations. I am a very high driven individual because I had a 3.7-3.8 GPA back in university but now I am missing deadlines at work – not caring about it anymore. I work in a public health nonprofit state food bank with high turnover (at least 10 people have left within the last year – I started in January 2022) and unsupportive supervisors/managers. Not to mention I am underpaid and only got a 1% salary increase. There is not job/financial satisfaction and there is no growth. I feel isolated and my coworkers are superficial. My 2 coworkers of the same title as me ignored…

That's not an exaggeration. The bitch accused me of call avoidance because the internet connection isn't always the most stable thing in the world when filtered through company security and Avaya sucks. All the instances she brought up come down to tech issues, but she's convinced it's my fault. She went through a month and a half worth of my calls looking for a reason to get rid of me. Supposedly, HR is still investigating her claims, so right now, I'm in limbo. If it was originally Paid admin leave, do they have to keep playing me until they give me an answer?

Hi, I don’t know if it fits here but I thought it was really fucked up. So I’m a student and sell tickets to parties part time. Today I had to cover my colleague’s shift and it’s at a different club than usual. They had me stand outside the club because there weren’t any signs or anything taht would suggest that the event takes place inside (it literally looks like a shady ass house). So they had me sitting outside in 3 degrees celsius for 4,5 hours, did not tell me beforehand I would be outside so I didn’t have anything extra warm to wrap myself in. My employer did not go check up on me once, and even when it got super late and it was obvious no one else was coming she wouldn’t come to let me go (which is a thing that she always does).
