In the years 2020 to 2021 we exposed millions and millions of working-age people in the “Essential” sectors to a pandemic virus. This killed many of them, made others acquire a disability, or caused death or disability in a family member in a way that forced them to have to stay at home to substitute for them/take care of them. big tech companies are laying off tens of thousands of employees while touting the line that automation is already capable of replacing them (it might be one day, but it's not in its current state). We are starting to see countries raise the retirement age. US states are taking the lead in normalizing child labor.
