I own a custom frame shop. Very small. I run it myself from customers to orders to materials to accounting. I tried working for other people for a decade. Wanted to be a graphic designer but I was undiagnosed adhd and asp so I was never a good fit. I could get the job because I’m great to meet for the first time but when They get a taste of the real me – the depressed, anxiety filled, introverted me – instead of making the workplace safer for me they would start preparing to fire me. I always knew when it would start. “We would like you to smile more” “you don’t seem to like to work here” “we’re getting complaints from other employees about your attitude” I was fired from every single job I had and so I stopped. I opened my own store and thought I was safe…

I work for GCE “Gold Coast eagle” and we received a bottle of water an orange and a granola bar for us working 45 hours with no sick time what a great gift…

Like the title says. Currently he has a physical illness and called out of work, I am staying home to help him around the house and for my own mental stability. Not planning on hiding away forever. Just took a day off of work from my minimum wage slog.

So I finally did it…I put in my 2 weeks notice. And work told me to pound sand and not return. So I only had 30 hours on the pay period. Company emails me and says due to a recent change in the attendance policy, vacation time is availible right away but is acurred throughout the year. So supposivedly I owe then for 24(ish) hours of pto that I used but “didnt earn” Lo and behold, payday comes, and after insurance and taxes, and repayment of my “vacation time” of 24.478 hours (we work 10 hour days….what!?) My check actually by some mathematic miracle broke even at 0.00. The odds of that are just astounding. Good riddance to a bad company.
