Hi so I (27) need some advice on my current job situation. I started working about half a year ago as a full time designer for this up & coming company that has found huge success and is growing at a rapid pace. It is obvious that this company is going to grow to be a huge entity and on one hand I feel lucky to be part of the team right when it’s starting to grow. However, I am contemplating asking my bosses if I can go contract so I can start setting up a base as a freelancer and have more time/room to grow as an artist selling my work (which is the ultimate end goal/dream I’ve had ever since a small child). My employer recently hired a team of consultants to do “time studies” on us while we work to make sure we are being efficient. Some of us that have been here for years have spent that time learning ways to turn a 45 minute project into a 25-30 minute project so we have more time in between projects to go to the bathroom and fill our waters without cutting into our production time. It’s a win win honestly, company still gets the amount of work done that they want, and I don’t have to sweat as much. Now these people came in with their stop watches and shit and ruined everything. 100% isn’t 100% anymore it’s 75. If you work for a company like this fuck you and everyone like you.

I've suffered for over 2 decades with stomach issues. Those are idiopathic gastroparesis, colitis, and gastritis. Those are just the start. I also have back issues which I was seeing a chiropractor for at my old job. My new job since I've gotten no help from doctors at all has added more health problems to the list. I have heel spurs and arthritis in both knees and bone spurs too. My immune system is totally weak too. I just came off of having a fever for the last 2 days and wasn't able to barely move. When it comes to my job I work retail overnight and only work there because I have no options. The job offers no real benefits and is severely low paying on top of it. So this could be just a thing that I have seen in Colorado, but I am curious on other states and larger cities. I went back to visit my dad who lives in the Denver area, and while I was there, it seems that there is more and more people that I see homeless. It seems that you see tents everywhere from when I was last there and it seems that it is getting worse every time I come back and visit. Is anyone else noticing it elsewhere?

As the title says, I (29F) can’t stay at a job for very long. I used to at least be able to last a couple years, but as time passes it’s gotten worse. I just started my current job at the beginning of this month and I’m already burnt out, to where it feels physically impossible to wake up and go. Last year, I quit my job of a 1.5 years with nothing lined up. I drained my 401k and lived off that for a few months so I could try to decide what I want to do with my life. But that dwindled quickly, as I’m also a single parent. I’m very worried about how I can continue to provide any type of stability for my child but I also now at this point barely even trust myself to start another job because I feel I’ll end up doing…

Including my family. Worse, my brother implied I can’t take care of my pets, whom I’ve been taking care of just fine for well over a decade. Everyone struggles financially sometimes, including people with jobs, but if I have a hard time for a month then this is what I have to hear. Like it’s my fault they’re being overworked and exploited. It’s my fault working sucks. I’m disabled; I wish they could borrow my body and mind for a day and see why I’ve never had one.
