So at my previous employer, Pizza Hut, i had worked a few months before management just stopped giving out tips(we had agreed to a tip pool, everyone made the same amount hourly anyways) and ofc I had contacted Indiana DOL, they had gotten back to me to say pizza hut had done nothing wrong… Well then I contacted the federal DOL and guess what? Heartland Pizza now has to pay up $6,200 in unpaid tips, of which I'm getting $269! Just celebrating this little win, getting what I was due.

Quick Backstory: I’m on maternity leave returning very soon. I’m starting a new position at a different location in the same company. The boss at my old location sucks but I chose to keep my mouth shut to get the promotion (we will call him Tom). There is a higher, main boss who will now be my new boss (we will call her Dana). I get paid $19hr in Miami (Little Havana/Coconut Grove area) and lowkey concerned if i can’t find another place that pays the same and gives me the same hours. Unless someone has a clue

Long story short, my father pressured me into getting a job at his company saying I won't amount to anything longterm if I don't take this. He's been doing it for 32 years. It's physical labor and that part of it doesn't bother me negatively at all. I have been nonstop training and I am still getting errors which is very costly to the company and the number 1 reason they let new temps go. I've tried being proactive and ask for help and better advice and everyone including my dad keeps saying “it's easy you'll get it.” Thing is I have a test at the end of this week and I need to pass 95% or higher to move on. As title say, a startup HR called me informally told me, that i wm not meeting their exception and is letting go. And asked me to do self resgination as termination by them wont look good. I work in uae and grom india, startup is from india funded by abu dhabi 1bil+ fund house What are my option here. Dont know about the state law and severance package. Cant ask from co workers as of now, as i am dealing with an family emergency. Not from USA, so no unemployement benefits. Not an emirati also, from india, working in IT company

Offered a settlement for some misconduct that happened at a non work event. Should I take it or file for unemployment ? Anyone have experience here?

I'm 27 and sitting in the dentists office right now because I have an infection in my gums due to an impacted tooth. I wouldn't even be able to go to the doctor if I didn't have an amazing boyfriend who's willing to pay for this visit. I went to college and studied theater under the misguided direction that any degree would be valuable (spoiler alert- this is a lie!! Don't do it!!) And ran up a bunch of credit card bills that are still following me almost ten years later.
