This isn't a major breakthrough post but I just found it interesting. I know a guy who was working as an AGM for a place. He hated it. I could understand why. He came upon a job that paid more, had a consistent schedule, and was more inclined with his previous work experience. His former boss came in to my workplace and was talking with someone who worked at the place the guy was leaving to. He said “when he told me he was quitting, I just gave the whole good for you for trying to improve your situation but really it was a relief since his lack of management skills was obvious.” I found it very ironic that instead of having good management skills and discussing it with their employee, they did nothing and waited for them to quit. This guy is now probably going to make more money…

We've got a labour inspection this week, we have been asked to submit paper timesheets for March – usually we fill out our timesheets daily online. Today my boss called me and said he couldn't ask me to change my timesheet, but if I didn't change it to represent a “more normal” working week, then the company would get fined and potentially shut down. Unfortunately he's left nothing in writing. On an average week, I am working 5-15 hours of overtime depending on the week. Some of this I get “time in lieu” , (not that I'll ever get a chance to take the time off becasue we're so understafffed), but a lot of it I don't get anything for. If I didn't really enjoy the work I am doing, I would stop working any overtime, work 8 till 4 and not a minute more. I did 18.5hrs overtime last…

My health insurance went up just over 43.25% this year making it a 63.6% increase since I started almost 2 years ago. Since I started, my pay has only gone up 2.11%

today i called in sick and my boss let me go!!! i’ve never been so happy to be fired. i hated that job. i’m freed. i’m so happy. thank GOD. i have another job lined up but its better than this fortunately.

So I work for a job where I’m supposed to be in the office 5x a week. I got into a major car accident last month, leaving me with a concussion and advised by my neurologist to WFH until needed. However, I got a job offer that’s fully remote and a 35% increase in pay. Am I in the wrong to put my two weeks in at my job even though they have been accommodating to my health issue ATM? 2 people from our team just left within the last month, so our department is falling apart as well

Yesterday I was fired for no apparent. My boss has bragged about getting people she doesn’t like canned by telling me “if I didn’t like you you’d be gone like X, and Y, and Z.” What happened was basically this; Boss and co worker confronted me in the kitchen. I responded. Boss told me I was getting too worked up. I asked how. “ Am i yelling? Am I being disrespectful? Am I out of line in anyway?” She responded “no, but I can tell you’re upset and it isn’t acceptable.” At this point I went outside for a breather and a smoke. Boss called higher boss over and I was fired for I guess being angry and out of control? But I have audio recording of the second half of the incident and am very clearly calm, in control, and work appropriate. I came home and immediately filed for…
