How far in advance is too far?

Hello, I've recently accepted a new position at my current job (PA), and we have been given our schedules all the way through the month of August. I'm curious as to whether or not this is okay to do. We we're kind of kept in the dark as far as when changes were coming, when positions would shift, and so on. I know PA requires a 24 hr minimum as far as notifying employees about shift changes, and that schedules should normally be written two weeks out. Is there a maximum though? Four months prior seems a little egregious and as we all know, things happen and people need to move things around. I'm just curious as to whether or not this is simply just something that is annoying, or something that should have never been allowed in the first place.

My boss is gaslighting me and I have documentation.

Okay, so here is just a small sample of the bullshit I have had to deal with in my one year of employment. this boss yelled at me before I was even clocked in because a different coworker had suggested swapping shifts with me. She did this right in the workroom in front of everyone. (I have the fact that she brought this up documented in an email, but at the time I downplayed the yelling because it was in my 90 day probationary period and I really needed the job) on two occasions I was asked to start working 30 minutes early, amd she removed that time from my time sheet. I was also asked to work on my breaks multiple times (making popcorn for the children librarian's event that night when I should have been on my lunch break was a notable one). I have no documentation of…

Quitting job help

I’ve been at this job for almost two years and it’s time to quit. Should I even submit a notice I come to work and sit and do nothing all day. I’m a physical therapy tech and right now it’s just me and the therapist. He drank all my coffee pods when I accidentally left them here and they haven’t been replaced. I know that petty but it’s not the only reason. He is moody and standoffish and will talk over me to patients. Yesterday I corrected a patients exercise 3 times then he came over and put his finger in my face and said when YOU notice this correct it. I was so angry I had to hold back tears and walk away. I could go on for a while but for the sake of this post should I just submit my notice effective immediately. I’m sitting here trying…

Is feeling lost at work normal?

Hi Everyone, So a little background about me: I have been working in the analytics industry for the past 11 months, and this is my first job. Prior to this, I was enrolled in an undergrad program. Lately, I have been feeling a little lost in terms of what I am doing, what I should do, and what could be the right path. All my life, I was a topper who just studied and got that recognition every time I scored well on an exam. But now, in the corporate world, some days are difficult. I want to have a good career and work, but how, what, and where I don't know. Today, after almost 1-2 months, I am having the same feeling that I am lost because I was exposed to a new problem and I had some time to understand what the objective was. My manager appreciated my…

Looking for advice/ranting from a young professional

This is very long, I’m looking for serious advice and I apologize for how long it’ll take to get through! Basically, I started a new job a couple months ago after my significant other passed away and I had been on bereavement leave. My old job was not something I wanted to do long term and I went into a completely different industry. I adore my new boss and we are at a pretty small company with only two offices. The office I work in is the bigger of the two and is run by the owner of the company, the other office is run by his son. In my interviews, I had exclusively discussed with my boss and the company owner that one of my primary responsibilities in my position would be running the company’s social media to help them grow and keep up with modern times. The owner…

Put in my two weeks, worst decision on earth

Hi everyone, from my previous post you can tell I’ve quit my current job because Im moving to a new city. Wanted to let everyone know that since I gave a 2 week instead of a 4 week (had 25 days PTO left) notice, I was/am unable to take any PTO, am not allowed to work from home for the two weeks (I get to wfh once a week) and basically can’t be hired by this institution again. I hate this place so I don’t care about the last. But man these two weeks have been so long and dreadful. This work environment is so shitty—no one acknowledges me, my manager shows up after letting us know she needed a LOA for personal reasons…now I guess she’s fine now. Everyone here treats me like shit. I almost wish I burned the bridge and never showed up because these people deserve…

My job sent out a mass text to all Employees, stating that we can’t lock the store until exactly 11pm(closing time) and to do all closing duties after. Problem is, we don’t get paid past 11. Is there anything they can do if I keep locking up 5 minutes earlier so I’m out the door for 11?

I don’t see why I should be past my shift time if I don’t get paid, also they expect us to have the store open and ready to go at 9pm but don’t pay us to exactly 9.
