Former USAF member

After reading some of the posts about people leaving crappy work situations I've decided to share my story. I was almost three years into my career in the military when I sat down with my direct supervisor to discuss my future and I was interested in changing jobs. I was working as a computer tech for the Supply Squadron and I wanted to basically do the same job but on a grander scale for the whole base. The biggest reason for the change was the job I was in had a $0 reenlistment bonus whereas the new position had a $10,000 reenlistment bonus. He gave me the info I needed to make this happen and it was mainly getting good scores on my yearly reviews (for my first and second reviews I received fantastic scores) and doing good in the interview process. I sat down for my yearly review with…

Amazon workers stage walk-out in protest of return to office policy

Great to see workers taking a stand against the attempts of management to undo the multitude of benefits to be had by remote work! https://www.engadget.com/amazon-workers-walk-out-to-protest-return-to-office-mandates-and-the-companys-climate-impact-194937443.html?src=rss

Me & two other coworkers got snitched on by another coworker

Damn this stung! I was really cool with this girl. We talk off the clock as well and shoot the shit together, me & a group of us, every lunch. Also I 100% know it was her because I heard her snitching to the kitchen manager while I stocking cups. Anyways, we all got pulled individually into the managers office and we were told someone, a person on our shift, said we were all talking to much and messing around. Today she had barely anyone in her section (three people, I remember her telling me earlier while I was still serving “yea I’m already done, there’s only three people in my section”). So, she finished everything a good 20 mins before us, while the rest of us had 10-15 people. Just wanted to vent tbh. Have any of you have similar experiences?

I feel violated

Last week I drove a company truck, doing a delivery, and it had a device on the inside of the windshield. ( This isn't my department.) I volunteered because I need the money. Every time I looked at my GPS. This thing would beep and say something unintelligible. Today my manager tells me that this thing was taking a picture every time I looked at the GPS on my phone. I feel hurt and violated. I am never volunteering for that again. And if they install one of these things in my service truck. I'm resigning and looking for another job. I've realized that this company has zero regard for it's people.

Don’t call me back? Nah, man.

So simple and short, so I applied to a place in my hometown, the gave the whole tour and all, but never got back to me. Two weeks ago the guy called me asking if I’m still looking for work, I haven’t called him back. Get what you give. More petty and entirely pointless, but I like it.

The Hypocrisy

For several years I've been doing a job that requires more hands on deck. I've requested help and even conveyed to my boss that my job is at minimum a two person job. I have communicated to other people the number of job responsibilities I have and they've confirmed it's ludicrous for one person to handle that many responsibilities. To top it off, I haven't been provided the necessary equipment to do my job (I work from home), and I have use my personal phone to make calls. When confronting my boss about this, she denied my requests for equipment, told me to quit complaining (she used an expletive) , and laughed when I requested help with my job. Fast forward, I've put in my two weeks notice. I found out from another manager that I was supposed to be provided with a laptop, docking station, dual monitors, printer, scanner…
