Hi everyone. I’ve worked for my company for just over a year ago and was only recently informed I get lieu days and have probably not been getting paid OT :/ This is great and all however I am getting laid off, along with everyone else, at the this location due to conflicts of leasing. I don’t have enough time to take all my lieu days or even some of them before then and I haven’t received a clear answer on if they will be paid out or if I’m just going to have to suck it. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I am beyond lost and frustrated trying to find out.
Month: July 2023
They say they'll give you 300$ bonus a month if you get a friend to work there (which was me), well they just fired my bother intentionally to avoid it. Manager also admitted they don't pay 13$ like they say on the sign but 11$. Anything that says “up to X” and involves min wage, you're going to get something barely above 8$. Idk how there hasn't been a massive lawsuit against mcD.

I only see people online that talk about how much they don’t like their job. I just want to see if there are people that are actually happy with their job in corporate America.

Mess around and find out
Hi I am Ammy. So this story goes back to 2021 December. covid restrictions were lifted recently and I needed job so badly so I went to an employment agency in montreal. They were sending dishwashers to different restaurants all over montreal over 30 restaurants. I worked there for 6 months on 15$ per hour which was very low considering heavy work load so I asked for a raise in the summer 2022 and the offer me a 50 cent raise . When I argued they told me to give my 2 weeks notice and leave. I was asking 16.5$ per hour which was still low for the job as most of people were making around 18$ hr. So back to the day of revenge. So it was a Saturday night when I was refused the 1.5$ raise because they felt that is ridiculous so I went to the restaurant…

Like title says, at my job pay is counted every 15 minutes, so if you click in one minute late you’re not paid for the whole 15. This is obviously an issue in itself but I didn’t care in the past because I just made it up with smoke breaks. Now I’ve transferred to a different location at the same company, but this building is different. At my old job you could just walk in, for this one you have to scan your card outside to open the door. But my card doesn’t work at the door even though I’ve asked them to fix it and it’s been months now. I have to wait for someone to let me in and usually I’m only waiting a minute, but that minute costs me 15 minutes of pay. Sometimes I work the 15, sometimes I don’t. At the start of the shift…
Bit of a rant here. I quit my job a month ago now after my boss treated me so badly for years that my health deteriorated severely. I worked at this company and gave them my soul for 5 years and they didn’t even give me a card or well wishes when I resigned (on good terms I might add). I saved up to take a year off and though I’ll probably have to find work again before then I just wanted to share some of the responses I’ve received. I’ve only told a handful of people that I quit, and yet everyone seems to know. The news spread like wildfire in my community. No one knows my plan to take a year off they just know I quit my job. What utterly disgusts me is the comments I’ve received. Things like: You quit? So what are you doing now?…
