Hi everyone, normally I don't post here but I'm so pissed off at this point and I'm not sure where else to turn. So the company I work for recently went Union. A clause in the Union contract is that workers are supposed to get an extra $1 an hour while they are training a new employee. This dollar is given to the employee for the entire week of work, regardless of how many hours were worked, as long as said employee spent time training a new employee during that week. My work place has a lot of turnover so this is important. My coworker (Bob) has been training me for the past 7ish months, and he has gotten inconsistent trainer pay during this time period. I truly keep wondering how long I can keep adhering to the life this capitalist society has made me live. I am in my mid 20s and work a fairly stress free 40 hour a week job, but the pay is garbage. All of the health benefits are being taken by people in their literal 70s and 80s who do nothing yet refuse to retire and let the state pay for their health care. I'll make this as short as possible and keep it to relevant information. A little background first. My partner has moved out of hospitality and into HR a few years ago and has had a hard time with her past few years. Her first job was with gusto but was let go after a year due to them outsourcing the department to another country. Her next job was with a big hotel chain but there were some ethical issues with the company so she moved on from them after about 18 months. Then she found her current job. On paper this job looked amazing. I started working 9 days ago and yesterday I got late at work because I wasn't feeling well aka I was stuck on the toilet (I got stomach issues) but I informed someone from work that I will be late. Later on when I got to work my boss asked me at his office, he asked me if was able to not take any vacations during September to December simply because that's when we got a rush at work and the last person before me kept being late or simply not coming to work sometimes without informing anyone and they gave her many chances to change that but she never did. I resigned from my job yesterday at a poorly run business, the reasons for me leaving are an inconsistent pay schedule, broken promises (I.e. benefits, time off etc.) and bullying. I have offered to finish out the month so as to not put them in a bad position, however the owner (my boss) is bringing up my contract (ends in September) and how I’ll be voiding it and will owe him thousands of dollars. As far as I’ve heard however the contract was voided on their part by violating my rights as an employee. Should I just leave now or should I finish out the month hoping that they don’t come after me for the money.

ive been working for a distribution depot for a retail store for 3 years now. today was it for me. i was talking to a coworker in the backroom where they keep the equipment. i went in there looking for a machine to get on and i ran into him in there doing the same. we chatted for at the most one minute about trying to get one to help run merchandise and a very quick word about something else unrelated (god fobid theres just a moment of socialization on the floor and be normal humans here and there for quick moments such as this) and our fat fucking powertripping supervisor was stalking us outside of the backroom. later on we both got a counseling notice. told him im not signing shit and he said its a write up next time he catches us. you literaly cant fucking stop working…
