Month: July 2023
(I would just like to say that the printing press has been around since the 1400s)
So, next week, my manager is going to tell me if I am going to be placed on the PIP or not. I made a ferverent effort to “improve” on my deficiencies, despite a hunch in the back of my mind that my manager might be out to get me. If my employer ultimately decides to put me on the 2-week PIP and I get let go, I would have lasted around 6-7 months with this company. Last year I was with another company for 8 months and it was disorganized, stresful and full of antagonism or grumpiness from my coworkers and employer. That was my first job after graduating from the pandemic in May 2020, where between that time I was unemployed for 1.5 years. I had previous jobs or contract internships with other companies, but they didn't last, because it's my understanding that a lot of these companies…
I don’t mean to seem ungrateful…
I’m pretty sure promising someone a position back after being on leave but then hiring someone else is illegal or something. We’re both unemployed and struggling, and the job that she briefly had was a really good fit. This all happened in January so hopefully that’s not too long ago for us to be able to get help. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks y’all. Also, we have text conversations proving that all this bs happened, if that would be of any help.
I’ve recently started a new job. It’s pretty unique because they have a fingerprint scanning system for clocking in and out. While my manager was demonstrating the process, he casually mentioned that they have a backup number (for clocking in and out) in case someone loses their index finger overnight. Can you believe that? I couldn’t help but ask if he actually expected me to show up for work after such a terrible incident! It was quite a bizarre conversation.
