Title pretty explains my situation. I’m in Europe btw and the country I moved to currently has an insane housing crisis, like you literally have a really have a hard time with it. Workplace found me a place but I’m probably not going to take the place because I don’t want to be tied to a employer that has leverage over me because working at that is already chaos. I have some friends that I can crash invase I don’t have any housing.
Hi all, Everytime someone asked him if he likes his new job, he always replies with some variation of “it's shit and I fucking hate it”. Whenever Sunday night rolls around, his mood is always worse, it's seriously affecting his mental health, I understand what it's like because I (25m) have been there before. He lives at home, doesn't have a GF or child, and only has car payments, he has a lot of money saved up and could easily take time off work to get his head right and find another job, he's a factory worker, those types of jobs are extreamly easy to find, especially because of his past experience. We both left school at 16 (UK) and this is only his second job, his last one lasted for 10 years, the difference between the two jobs are night and day. I'm completely expecting his to brake down…
But hey what would a superpower know about equality.
I have been late a handful of times, mostly 15 minutes, but a couple of 45 minute late arrival times. Honestly, I was just not feeling the job. I work with troubled kids and one of them sliced her wrist in front of me. The kids are sometimes rude and waking up to that can be hard. But trust me, I know that the response with the most leverage behind it is: this is your job, you do what you gotta do, this is what you signed up for, and you can always walk away. A lot of times, this feels like a mentally manipulative response because, of course, you “can” walk away, but the it's not the results of that will always work out for you, and I have been looking for another job, but I don't want to quit. I want the conditions to be better. It is…
Hi everyone. I’m a housekeeper at a motel. When I come into work I’m given a checklist of tasks and when I finish them I ask if there’s any more work for me to do. My boss typically schedules me 10-3 but often I’m only given work that keeps me there until 12. I’m in MA and heard from another housekeeper about a law (454 CMR 27.04 1) that if I’m sent home early they need to pay “show up pay” and pay me for three hours regardless. That has never happened. I was speaking with another housekeeper and our boss has been doing that for her. I just wanted advice on how to bring this up to my boss (preferably through text because I don’t like confrontation). My boss is already very passive aggressive to me and I don’t want her to be nasty to me over it but…
I'm in college. I wanted to work during the holidays, but they don't want me anywhere. They call, say they will get back to you, but the phone is silent. It's hard for me to find a job because of health problems. I would prefer to work from home, but the only remote offer is a call center, where you have to humiliate yourself to make money. I'm still financially dependent on my parents and it just depresses me.
