America is going to hell. The wage inequality is ridiculous, and everyone knows it. But what can we do? An employee's, we need money. To afford rent, food, a car. What's the way to fix the wage gap in the US? If there is any?

Am I getting an opportunity to settle?
A year ago I experienced discrimination from a very elite academic institution. I filed a EEOC complaint in my state and they investigated and filed a charge of discrimination against the institution. I consulted a reputable employment lawyer about a month ago who told me I indeed have a case but this institution gets these discrimination charges so often (she had even settled and litigated against them) that they don't even acknowledge them anymore. They just pay their little bill and move on. I could try getting them to settle, but she said it would probably go no where and be for very little. But she encouraged me to try because I can be my own counsel, and it's certainly not unheard of. Why not try? This was only a month ago that I received that advice so I never went forward with it. I received this email to my work email today. I'm guessing they found my LinkedIn but I'm not posted as open to work and while my account does need updated, it does not have my email information anywhere. But a lot of companies have figured out my company's email formula. I think the worst part for me is the use of bold and all caps to show me how LUCRATIVE this will be to balance off the move. I normally respond kindly to recruiters that are polite because I get they are doing a job but I'm torn between ghosting or giving feedback to this one.
Sales goals being high and unobtainable
I'm a sales manager in the cellular industry and have been for about a decade now. I'm running into an issue where my goals are just too high to obtain based on the traffic I'm getting. I'm in Florida which is a very heavy seasonal state. July is peak slow season and my goals are the same as they were in December, which means I'm not getting paid bonuses. I've talked to my district manager about this and he just refutes it as “it's slow we just have to deal with it”. There's been no attempt to bring this up the ladder either. My stores conversion rate is the highest in the company which means we are capitalizing on the traffic that's coming in but the goals are just too high for the traffic I'm getting. My GF works from home with a salaried job. She is expected to work 9-5 with no overtime allowed. Several of the people who work with her often work an extra 20-30 minutes if there is something important that can't wait. But my GF routinely works an extra 50 minutes and sometimes even 90 minutes past 5pm. When I ask her about it she says there is lots of work to do and she has to do it. Generally it is a stressful job and she doesn't like it much. But she refuses to quit.
Thank god for the transparency. I would have no idea what the salary would have been before applying.

Hello everyone, first post here. l currently work in a small biotech company. Layoffs have begun and resulted in 20% of the staff being made redundant. The team I am in is apparently risk free but they have asked us if I want to have a voluntary redundancy. Our team used to have 10 people and now it has 5. My workload has doubled and is not feasible. My current notice period is 3 months but if I ask for the voluntarily redundancy can I leave immediately?
