This is kind of a reverse post as usually I see this question about USA Healthcare. I have a possible opportunity to move to London for work in the near future. However, two things I am hesitant about is that my salary will be significantly less and needing good healthcare as I have a chronic illness I need to be monitored for. I am not familiar about UK Healthcare system and would like to learn more. I have it good compared to others who post here regarding health insurance. My insurance only costs me $130 a month and my out of pocket is nominal. The most I will spend a year is $3500 and that is only if I need a surgery or am hospitalized. That money is also set aside each year in a pre-tax account so I never have to worry about coming up with the funds. I…

“What is this gibberish?” “How do you make the words sound so appealing like that?” When asking someone to submit a design for a digital project, here's how you shouldn't respond: “I don't like it.” (They didn't provide much instruction to begin with on the direction of the project) “That's what she DIDN'T want” (They didn't tell the designer what kind of graphics they should stay away from or what the larger vision was) “I'm going to send this to xyz person (who you are not familiar with) to see what they think.” “I forgot to tell you I asked xyz person to also submit designs for this.” “I think I'll have you work with this person on this project. We're having a hard time gaining customers. Maybe you can help.”
Working conditions in Canada?
Hi everyone. I've come to this sub-editor to ask a question about people who I hope can give me a decent perspective: I have the opportunity to move to Canada to work from the UK. My husband is a scientist who has a good government job here (environmental sector) with good government benefits including around 30 days of paid vacation. His hesitation about moving to Canada and working there is that he may have to work in less favourable conditions. Are there jobs in Canada where be can work where employees get good working like this? The government? I'm interested in all answers. Thanks.
What are reasons to quit my work?
I have to give them 1 month resignation before I can quit. What reasons should I tell my coworkers that I quit? The real seasons are so I can get other job. Originally I plan to quit once I get a new job but the longer I stay the more I feel mentally drained. Staying at home with no job is also mentally drained too, but at least I can use my free time to prepare for other jobs freely. I don't want to tell them that reason though.
Before I started working at my company, I was promised to get more responsibilities and a new job title after a short period of time. What I lacked was mostly knowledge of their products. I started working there mainly because of the future function that I should get. I wanted to make everything specific in terms of dates, objectives etc but it was not really possible for them. I accepted it and started working hard. After a year I got a function that is in between from where I started and the function I should get. I worked for some time in that “in between” function and in a meeting with my bosses they let me know that I am doing good work but lack experience that is why they will fill the function with someone else. I expressed that I am not happy about that but I did not…
Cross post from another sub. This was relating to an employer which I have resigned from nearly 15 years ago. We left on good terms, gave them plenty of notice and they paid out all my outstanding leave etc. But about 1 and a half month after I resigned they still continued to pay me. I was on salary and I get paid fortnightly. So I calledy ex manager to let them know. They had a look and they noticed that they screwed up my resignation paperwork so they kept paying me. She told me they will let payroll department know and correct it I told them no problems as I knew there was an issue and I didn't touch the money they paid me incorrectly and it's still in my bank account. So the next day I received a call from payroll. They told me they are emailing me…
I worked at HEB where I faced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Hostility, gaslighting, unfairness, manager-caused injuries, and more. Google the company and find court cases that are not trivial (not slip-n-falls). It's not just me; they mega-coerce, lie, and most likely bribe themselves out of trouble. This company is bad; they're buddy-buddies with what seem to be corrupt politicians, crooked cops, ill medical practiotioners, and even seem to have some government officials in their palms. Management all the way to corporate doesn't care about people, being fair, just, or good; look at their leadership example. I'll be posting more info if you wanna add me to tiktok/twitter/youtube (@corruptiontraps).
Limited poo time
And when i tell my shift leader that I’m going to call off tomorrow with a DR. Note she tells me. “You can’t call off for having a sore throat. You need to be dying.” I work at a hospital to. Now she’s telling my manager that I was working fine all weekend and not to believe I’m sick. Wtf
Fired for talking sh*t haha
Could go on forever about things wrong with this shit show of a restaurant. Delayed pay schedule , Manipulation , no OT pay but forced to work OT. The wanna be manager , who they recently made manager , bitched at me and my coworker for talking about our pay and I couldn’t take it any more . Started yelling that I fucking hate this place and that I was going to walk out right now. I come in today , do my shift , a few hrs later after I clock out , I’m completely removed. I regret not just walking out.
