I only get paid once a month. Because of this I try to stick to a budget… try and mostly fail. I give myself $700 for all my spending money for the entire month (groceries, gas, eating out, pet supplies, and miscellaneous) This month I gave myself a $600 budget. I just want to save more. I haven’t even been paid a week and I already feel like I’ve gone over my budget for the rest of the month. I feel like I’m stuck in a vicious cycle, like I realize I need something during the month, but I’ll wait til my next paycheck. Then when I get paid I buy a bunch of things I need, feel broke again, rinse and repeat. I feel lucky because I live with my parents and they only charge me $100 in rent, but at my age my parents and I get into…
Month: July 2023
Okay so this is a venting post. I needed to vent somewhere and figured you guys would understand. Some context first. I live in staff accommodation that the company I work for owns. Its the only thing I and any of the other workers in the area can afford. Everything else is owned and rented by landlords, most of which are slumlords or are staff accommodation for other businesses. I have been working for the company for over 5 years. Most employees need to share a room when they first start working for the company. I have had my own room for 4 years. The room I am in right now has been a single occupant room for far longer than I've been working here. My boss loves me and I've done more for this company than they'll ever do for me. Yet despite all that the new human resources…

Authentication and other work apps
Hi there, I have a remote job and was given the option to download an authentication app, teams and outlook on my personal phone. My work would reimburse me for doing this by paying for part of my phone bill. I’m okay with the authentication but is there any concern for having teams and outlook? They did say I could do this on my iPad or a secondary phone if I’m not comfortable with it. I could see the ease of having it on my phone but are they able to view my personal data or even wipe it or are they limited to the business apps? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
I’ll start off by saying I’ve worked there for 4 years now. I work 3 12 hour shifts and I’m off 4 days. I got this job right out of high school because my parent has been employed there for 10 years. My job is just an entry level service job. The biggest reason I’m not happy there is because of the toxicity. There’s constant gossip about other employees, a large portion of it comes from my direct boss. She’s a complete narcissist. All she does is gloat about how she’s an amazing employee while she trash talks everyone. She is a complete two faced bitch, acts nice to my face one day and then the next I’m talked down to. Examples: she claims I don’t know what it’s like to experience mental health issues because she’s experienced worse than me. Recently I was severely ill (provided a doctors note…
Finally, some honesty

Anti-Union Learnings at Petsmart
I'm a manager at Petsmart and for the most part I like my job. Today I had to take some required classes that all the leaders have to take across the company and this one stood out for being a guide on how to break up unions. Please forgive the bad quality I had to take pictures of the work computer with my phone.
