I'm just frustrated. Me and my partner work for the same company. I used to love it here until major leadership changes led to my work becoming unbearable and led to extended stress leaves, exacerbation of mental health issues and physical disabilities. And yet my partner, who (unlike my team) makes the company money directly (sales) and doesn't mind kissing ass and faking corporate bs to get ahead, has seen mutiple promotions, big raises, awards, etc. I hate this. Why can't my work speak for me and give me the same opportunities. Why do I have to drink the bullshit corporate koolaid and/or directly generate revenue to be valued. I honestly don't think I can do this for another 15 years. And it's causing me to resent my partner even though I know it's completely unfair to them Don't get me wrong. I'm proud of what they've accomplished. But I…

My wife and I work for a large resort in the tourism industry. They give out a $250 bonus for referring someone who gets hired and works for 3 months. My wife referred a friend and when she went to collect the bonus the person told her that her name wasn't in the referral box on her friend's application and that bc so many people were abusing the program that there was no grey area. If there's no name there's no bonus. My wife was upset but mostly bc the dude inferred that she's a scammer. A few weeks later I went in to see the same dude about a buddy I referred. He pulled up the guy's file and said yep, he been hired then went to another screen and said sorry but your name isn't on the referral. Then went into the same scammer rant. I've known my…

(english isn't my native language) Very undeveloped idea here. I believe that this idea is something to consider, although that it will need a whole hell of a ton more work from both society as a whole and especially politicians to make this idea work. Here it is: As the title says, a robot/ai tax. This tax would be given to every single robot/ai a company owns, and the tax would be proportional in amount to the amount of work said robot/ai can provide. Examples: Robot vacuum cleaner = Basically nothing, although a very small amount of money. A robot that's basically a human (Of course this doesn't exist yet, but if you believe that it never will, then don't) that doesn't need sleep, lives inside the working place (works 24/7 with some hours for recharging), doesn't take time off, doesn't complain, works in perfect synchronicity with all other robots,…
I make 16.50 an hour full time, working 42-43 hours a week, and with my rent being 1600, and other expenses like food, gas, internet, rental insurance, etc… coming out to $450, I'm barely scraping by. I'm looking for something to help generate passive income. I don't have a choice any more. I want to know what you all do for extra cash. Of note, I'm in a 2 bedroom but I'd rather not share with a stranger. I'm 28, and like my privacy. Also,I can't afford a car or car insurance so uber and such is off the table.
The starving artist
Hey, so I wanted to post a link to a song snippet on my Tik Tok page and I want you guys to check it out. It's called “I'm Not Okay.” Off my upcoming mixtape called “Heaven Or Hell”. It's a song I think yall can relate to. It's about someone tired of working a 9 to 5 getting nowhere and forcing themselves to be okay for the sake of survival even though deep down they feel ok at all. To be honest, the song isn't studio quality. I live in Florida and right now, I can't afford to do too much besides work paycheck to paycheck and pay bills. But I always dreamed of being an artist that would make real music for people going through the struggle in life. I'm not asking you for donations or anything monetarily. I'm just asking for your time in the hopes a…
worked in a Kelsey's restaurant in a different city for about a year. I've always been good about my attendance through my working life but this place had pushed me to the limit. It had been a toxic work environment created by the general manager and owner running the restaurant in two different directions and talking crap about each other. And I had even had an arrangement with them for a fixed yet unofficial salary. Basically so I could work overtime and not get paid the overtime pay. That way they would give me more than 40 hours. But after about 6 months working 6 days a week and an entire month even working 7, I wanted five days a week. And defycluld have fulfilled my 50 hours within five days. But my general manager who was very toxic, wouldn't give me 2 days off a week. At the time…
