Ever felt like you're stuck in a never-ending loop of procrastination, to the point where it's crippling your progress? Well, that was me not so long ago. Deadlines whooshing by, tasks piling up, anxiety through the roof – procrastination had me in a chokehold. The problem was I relied too much on intrinsic motivation. I thought, as long as I have the passion and the interest, I can accomplish anything. But there are days when you just don't feel it. That's when tasks start piling up. I was stuck in this loop until I discovered the concept of extrinsic motivation. For those who aren't familiar, extrinsic motivation is what pushes you towards specific outcomes or goals. It's driven by external factors like rewards, recognition, or avoiding negative consequences, not necessarily because you want to do the task. Hello everyone, first post here. l currently work in a small biotech company. Layoffs have begun and resulted in 20% of the staff being made redundant. The team I am in is apparently risk free but they have asked us if I want to have a voluntary redundancy. Our team used to have 10 people and now it has 5. My workload has doubled and is not feasible. My current notice period is 3 months but if I ask for the voluntarily redundancy can I leave immediately?
This might not be a typical post complaining about corporate greed, but I figured that I would ask some of you this. I am going to get my first job soon, and I want to know what places will not treat me like shit and pay me relatively well for a starter job, since you all probably know what places treat everyone like shit.
Crazy stuff
Probably not a good idea.

I’m in love with San Diego and always wanted to try to immigrate and live and work there. Until I followed this and multiple subreddits about the working and living conditions of Americans. Both times I’m unable to work for more than 4 hours and being a total of 14 months in sick leave that have been paid in full by my employer. The surgery that I’m getting is not crippling me financially, it’s only costing me about…

Hello everyone, Can you help me find a good excuse to not attend a seminar dinner that is scheduled to finish at 1 am? I need a reason that cannot be questioned. I don't want to spend time with my shitty boss and coworkers who have been annoying me lately + i live far away.
