Everyone else received an employment contract stating the terms of contract can change only if both parties agree to the change. However, I received a contract with the following condition: terms are at discretion of the supervisor and may change at any time. I am the only one with a disability

I have a friend who is working off the books making $17 an hour as a custodian for a high profile school in NYC. She recently got her citizenship and requested to be converted to on the books to build her credit. Not only did they not give her an answer, they handed her last check and terminated her effectively immediately. What can she do to protect herself in this situation? Does she have a case with DOL or lawyers? Any information will help as Google provided nothing on this specific subject.
I have many good reasons to quit but majorly I don't want to deal with people at work anymore. My personal views and work requirements are moving in opposite direction constantly and increasingly. But I like my work and it pays well. I have been stuck in this conundrum for far too long on whether to just quit or not. Sometimes I want to keep on working just so that the people that I work with don't get the satisfaction of me giving up. But I also don't want to keep on working just to spite some folks. I don't know what to do, I guess I am just looking for a place to vent. I am generally a very decisive person but this decision is breaking me.
Am I being a baby?
So I’m 27, and I’ve had a handful of jobs. Two days ago I started a shipping/receiving position. The hours were specified as 7:30am to 4:30pm with “occasional” overtime. However, as I was talking to the other lady in this position she told me she started in December and rarely gets off before 6 especially in the summer, where I guess more products move so they get more trucks during later hours. And there’s been nights she’s here until 11-12 o’clock at NIGHT. There’s a 30 minute lunch and supposedly two 15 minute breaks I’ve never seen anyone in the office take. Today I had a conversation with my supervisor about the possibility of having a set or limit to my off time, 5:30 at the latest considering I’m going to be starting at 7:30 in the morning and have an hour drive both ways. She said there’s absolutely no…
Apply for a job and they have a drop down (with search) for your education background. I went to a community college and a Uni. Couldnt find my community college (which is an accredited college) but could find my uni. Messed up they can exclude schools from being added in an application.
Doing my coworkers job
I work at a bingo hall and my coworker Steve has been there for maybe over a decade, I joined last November. Steve is in his late 60s, he says he is rich and doesn’t need the job, he just does it to get out of the house otherwise he will just sit on the couch and drink beer. Our team is super small like 10 people total including management but all of us besides the managers are “bingo agents” we’re all supposed to do varied jobs an agent is required. That’s what we are told, and still get told all the time by my boss Vic. But the only people who rotate work are me and another guy Jake (hired a month after me) who does everything. The rest of the team has permanent positions and don’t rotate jobs. And the only reason is because the people who have…
I did it! I quit! My job had basically been my dream job for years. I was being promoted through the company, I was doing excellent work, my clients thought I was amazing. Everything was coming up Milhouse! And then management changed. I made another post a while back about how I didn't get promoted. A girl who had been at the company for a year got promoted over me with five years, because she was willing to do free labor and I wasn't. I started job searching. I had a handful of interviews with one job. I was in despair. I cried myself to sleep at night. I screamed at my computer. I was miserable. I was being expected to help the new girl along with her work, the same work that I was told I wasn't good enough for. I drew some hard boundaries and my company hated…
Just need to see if I have a non compete because it's time to fly solo and poach a few contracts. “Hey I wanna see when it'll be officially 5 years employment, does my contract have a date on it?” is the best I can come up with…
Laid off and replaced by AI
After I gave my blood, sweat, and tears for this company, I wake up one Monday morning and am told that I am no longer needed. Right after being told on Friday that I am heading the 2 biggest and most important projects for the company, that its future success relies on them. After that meeting, I am immediately locked out of my email account so I can't even let the outside clients know that I am no longer their contact or wrap up existing projects. I am now seeing all of their Instagram posts, with assets that I collected for them to NO cost of their own except for product cost, being posted with really shitty AI captions. Right before I was laid off, I was given insane deadlines to rewrite all the copy, which I met, barely, after working multiple 10 hour days, working on airplanes, working during…
