Wtf is up with all these warehouse jobs requiring you to work 10 hours and that’s not even over time. They say 10 hour shifts plus over time. Excuse me???? Why so casually sir? & all these other jobs on indeed are for pure caregiver positions. Which by the way require FBI background It’s getting harder and harder to get a job. I haven't looked for a new job in 25 years and the last job I found was through just driving to some plants and walking in to fill out an application. Well, it took me half a day to find that job. After 20 yrs I left it to work for myself, about 5 yrs ago. Our living situation became much more complicated over the last year and I think it is time to find another company job. I am in the process of writing my resume now, but my question is: how do I look for work now? I used to have a LinkedIn account, but I canceled that years ago. I also read a lot of bad things about linkedin and indeed on here, so how do people find jobs now? Is driving from plant to plant and applying in person still a viable choice? Do I go…

I know many positions are obligated to be present the whole shift based on the type of work but there are lots of jobs where someone finishes their tasks for the day but have to just sit there and wait out the clock for several hours. It seems very counter productive, I feel it would actually improve productivity since most people don’t want to just sit out the clock. I personally worked with many people who are super lazy all day because they are stuck there until end of day anyway so no reason to be productive when they can procrastinate on their phones for half the day. Just something that came to mind and wanted to see what others think.

And now my take home pay is about $100 less than before the raise because of taxes.
