So, for context: I work for a state-exclusive thrift store chain. We have about 8 different locations. Non-Profit, and I make $13.98 an hour. Since I transferred from one location to another to work full-time and sustain myself, I’ve been bogged down by numerous issues. At first, it was with my elderly coworkers who refused to ‘accept me’ as part of the team despite the fact I was a young pair of arms(Male, 23), worked more often than they did, and adhered more to the company rules. But now, it’s become a matter of higher management issues, and customer/donor aggravation. First and foremost, I work 5 days straight every odd week, and I work seven days straight every even week(pictures for context. Since this is the week of the 4th of July, they put me in for an extra day of work. And then we have the 4th off. 8…

What the hell are we doing?
Hey, all Life is becoming worse for the majority in the U.S.A. Yes, I understand Uganda has a worse situation, but I don't want to compare the U.S.A. to Uganda or any other developing nation. I want us to compete with the developed nations. I want us to compete to have a good quality of life for all. I feel like we are all pissed and how the bulk of the power, but no pathway to do anything about it. Voting sure, but let's be real… Both sides voted against student loan forgiveness. Both sides take donations. What can we do?
Husband was called into a meeting on Friday, told that all the problems are his fault and he can either take a written warning and prepare to be fired or just resign now. Took the weekend to think about it, went to resign this morning and found out that his colleague from another department was told the same thing and is also resigning. This is a small company, just starting out, that is now losing 2 key positions with nobody to take over the responsibilities. I think Boss has a brain tumour.
“Their people” don’t clock in.
Ok this is about to sound racist as hell. I work at a franchise owned by Indian people. My current job I'm employed at is owned by a husband and wife, both from India. The past few years they've hired a ton of kids from a local college (who are Indian) and they don't clock in or out or recieve payroll checks. I'm assuming they have visas and can't actually work. Must be nice to not have to have taxes taken out of your checks because you have the same skin that they do. Any time questions are asked they're chalked up to “they know their schedule”. Anybody who is white has to clock in and receives payroll checks. It's a mystery as to how they pay the Indian kids. Shady and definitely time for a new job
Innocent or guilty?
So on Friday June 30th I come into work, mind you I do not like who I’m working with a couple weeks back this coworker who I insanely dislike likes it when people are 100% honest with her bluntly honest and I knew what I was getting into when I said, this I told her I hate working with you Everytime I arrive at work seeing you I’m exhausted and when I leave I’m in such a bad mood I hate Fridays and she told me “thank you for that that’s the best thing you could’ve done for me” but I said in my own words “but you made a really good meal I’d be lying if I didn’t enjoy it” for a long time I couldn’t stand her she’s insanely slow at the job healthcare I work in btw didn’t mention that anyways fast forward to the Friday I…
So I was having dinner with my family when the topic of where everyone would want to work if they could choose. I said I would want to work from home as it wouldn’t be mentally straining on me having to worry about travel. They said that’s a stupid mentality as I should be in the office working in a cubical to show I’m being a good worker. I’m just so confused, are older generations good with being stuck in cramped spaces? Is this a bad mentality to have?
I'm using mobile, and I don't know if it'll work properly. https://youtube.com/shorts/slZfdiS2U4I?feature=share3
Getting rid of 1/3 of my job
Basically I’m just venting and figured this might be the best subreddit for it. I work a job between 3 medical offices and specifically requested full time hours because I’m young and broke. Not only did I not get full time hours, the company I work for just announced that one of the offices is eliminating my position entirely due to budget cuts. I also wasn’t given a day off that I requested and when I confronted someone about it, they told me to find my own coverage. I am beyond frustrated with everything and I feel like it’s all been so poorly handled, especially with the position cut. I know it isn’t personal but other people work in that position too and a bunch of us are totally screwed. I’m actually one of the lucky ones for working at 2 other offices. Also, to make matters worse, I don’t…
