I currently make about 48k as a mental health educator for a non profit. Not amazing pay, but the benefits and flexibility are top notch and have allowed me to really live a better life compared to previous jobs. I'm not actively looking, but I saw a posting for another MH educator role that sounded so cool, and for 55-60k. I exceeded all of their preferred qualifications, so I figured it would likely end up being a 12k pay raise. Interviewed today, blew them away, and got a call this evening with an offer. I asked them to send me the whole compensation package to review before accepting and the salary was 50k. There was “an error” on the posting, and I was told the range was 50-52. So they literally didn't even offer me the highest they could and told me so. I'm just so furious. NY state passed…

Was let go
7 years of my life I gave to a company and not even a two week notice I get let go over text. Every coworker I have is also being let go because they're hiring contract workers instead because they're cheaper and they don't have to pay benefits. This is how employers see us as. Expendable and replaceable.

Noooooooo lol
I’m curious what people suggest to do in this circumstance. The past few days the AC has been broken at my workplace. The indoor temperature is ~8 degrees Celsius hotter than the outside temperature. Currently outside it is 25C (77F) and inside is 32C (90F). Tomorrow the temp is supposed to hit 30C (60F) outside which likely means nearing 40C (104F). I reached out to management and they just said they’ll get someone in to fix it but it could take a week. I feel like those temperatures shouldn’t be worked in. For reference I live in BC Canada if anyone has any tips for what to do in this circumstance.
