23 Extra Cents To Keep People Alive

I previously worked as an over the phone Triage Nurse. My job as a triage nurse was not particularly difficult, and I felt like I wasn't being challenged so I applied and interviewed for a bedside nursing position at the main hospital. Their HR representative called me and offered me the job. She told me I would get 23 more cents an hour than I am already being paid for the triage position. I just said “To keep people alive?!?!”. She told me that she understood how I felt and would see what she could do. (LPN's almost do the same job as RN's in this particular hospital and get $15 less an hour.) What's worse is that they have bumped up CNA pay to start at $20hr in the past month. Don't get me wrong, I was a CNA and they deserve that 100%, but LPN's start out at $22hr. So after going to school and holding a license, working 12 hour days, ect… I am being paid less than a majority of CNA's. This is exactly why I am looking for new jobs (In the area wages start around $28hr for several LPN jobs) and cannot wait to hand in my notice.
