A place that I work part time on and off as needed offered us our highest paid rate to complete a sexual harassment training. For me, this is $31 dollars. The next pay period I received $28 for this training. I emailed twice about having the pay adjusted and they didn’t ever adjust the pay or get back to me.
This was in November.
Today, I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. I asked my boss about the $3, and he apologized multiple times and said that he made a mistake. He then went on to tell me that I would not be receiving this adjusted pay. He said to me “I am not going to process a payment for $6”. (at the time he thought the difference was $6, not $3). He also went on to tell me “It's only $6. Its not like you worked a work call or a 4 hour minimum. You did an online training that should have taken you 45 minutes”.
Before I could even leave the building, I had had my online payroll serviced deactivated, where I couldn’t access the company directory to contact hr. They haven’t scheduled me since I initially asked about the pay in November, but they haven’t really had work for me either.
Wondering what my options are here or if anyone can help. This is NYC fyi.
