Apologies if this is not the right sub, just looking for some feedback from people who may have experience.
Long story short, I am a small business owner for about 6 years now, and much to my surprise it has taken off lately and turned into something I never would have guessed, becoming much more successful than anticipated. Since starting my business, I have also realized that I just don't really like working that much, and there are more things I would rather be doing.
As a result I have floated the idea to my employees about the possibility of a 4 day work week, in order to give everyone an extra day for whatever. It is definitely in the beginning stages of an idea, but I was pretty surprised at how many people were against it/unsure about it. Can anyone with experience in a four day schedule maybe provide some insight as to why people may be opposed?
For context, all of my employees are salaried, so the new schedule would not steal anyone's hours or anything like that. It would likely require the hiring of one, maybe two, additional employees to help fill the schedule so it may affect our version of “overtime”, but at this point it seems unlikely that it will.
TIA!
