73% Increase in Pay? Why yes please

Been working at the same company for the last 5 years. Started as an admin assistant then to account manager and in that time my pay hasn't really gone up that much. My team has been stagnant with no new hires since I started and my workload has continued to increase to the point its necessary to be at 60 hours a week for months at a time, and half the shit I do doesn't have a qualified manager. I applied for a new job and in 11 days interviewed and was offered a position with a 73% increase in pay. My ex-current employer initially said they wouldn't counter-offer, but then got an executive involved who presented an offer that my only response was your asking me to leave $1,000 on the table every month when I told you I cant afford rent?
