The title about never having a day off is a bit misleading. She never once called in sick in 74 years. What did they do when she retired… They put up a plaque in the store. This by the author hit home a bit: I don’t know about you, but stories like Melba’s certainly inspire me. Not sure how much it inspires me that a 90 year old is having to work until health issues.
