Here are some of the things he's done:
- Require all employees to show their face on video, then takes screenshots of our faces when we're making unflattering expressions, then uploads them as company-wide chat emojis and posts them in our team channel
- One time a teammate showed up to a meeting 5 minutes late, so now every time we have this meeting he purposely doesn't admit him into the meeting to make him anxious/flustered, and watches him posting in our team channel about not being able to get into the meeting, while laughing at him in the meeting
- Creates “nicknames” for employees based on mistakes they've made, and changes their chat name to reflect it. For example stuff like “Kernel Panic Kyle” or “404 Fred”. He makes a point that these nicknames last forever, and tells newbies to watch out or they'll get their own nickname soon.
- One time a teammate posted a selfie in the wrong channel when he was still under the influence of surgery meds, and now he encourages people to react to messages with his post-surgery selfie anytime someone posts a message in the wrong channel
Tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this stuff is unacceptable. I don't know if other people laugh and go along with it because he's our boss, or if they genuinely think it's ok.
