Recruiter acts like a child when I worked with another recruiter “behind their back.”

Last week I had two recruiters reach out to me for an open position at a tech firm in my city. It was the exact same job at the exact same company. Recruiter #1 reached out on LinkedIn early last week, I shared my resume with them, and then they ghosted me. A few days later, Recruiter #2 (at an unrelated agency) reached out about the same job. I sent them my resume, and they managed to book a phone screening AND an interview with the hiring manager in the same week. The meeting with the hiring manager went swimmingly, and I feel good about getting the job. Heck yeah! Recruiter #1 suddenly resurfaced about the job and was surprised when I told them I already met the hiring manager. They complained that they’d been “working really hard” to book an interview and demanded to know how I got to…

They complained that they’d been “working really hard” to book an interview and demanded to know how I got to meet the hiring manager already. I told them about Recruiter #2, and they scoffed at me. “Unbelievable…” they said loudly, and hung up the phone.

Your quotas are not my problem buddy. Grow up, or get out of sales.
