Salaried or hourly, i dont get it.

Hi, im not american, but i do enjoy this thread and the stories here. I have one question. I often see people asking if op is salaried or hourly, making difference for overtime payment. Basicaly what i got from here is if you are salaried, you dont get payed for overtime, you just work how many hours the employer tells you? And younstill get the same payment, even if you work more hours then agreed? I am from czech republic and this just sounds super stupid and weird, whobwould agree to this?. Here you sign contract that says how many hours you work for how much money. End of story and if employer wants you working more hours, you get payed overtime for every minute basically. Sure, you can work like a contractor with hourly rate, but the most common is the full time employment i said above. Sorry for…
