I've gone into details already about my toxic company, so if you're interested in more details you can take a look at my previous posts. Here's a quick summary:
-
High turnover, had 3 supervisors all within a year.
-
Poor financials, the CEO blames it on employees instead of taking responsibility for not charging clients
-
My mental health began to decline, impacting my work. I took some time off. I returned refreshed and was (mostly) back to normal.
-
After putting in solid work for a month, I'm put on a Performance Improvement Plan. It's clear that this is a way to get me fired.
-
I decide to jump the gun and quit, despite not having another job lined up. I gave them two weeks notice. My last day was supposed to be Aug 5. I picked that day so I could health health insurance during the month of August.
Well, at 4:50 PM today (7/29), I was fired. Yup, 10 minutes before work ended.
I could also talk about how I have a theory that the company (and especially my latest supervisor) was sexist. I could talk about how I heard from the rumor mill that the CEO is thinking of selling the company.
If I do say any of that, though, I'm going to do it after I receive my last paycheck.
My friend in HR has a theory they fired me today so they explicitly didn't have to pay health insurance for the next month. 🥲
